Dr. Foo is an orthopedic surgeon at BJIOS Orthopaedics, with a clinical focus on managing sports injuries. He has a special interest in sports and hip preservation surgery. In 2020, Dr. Foo was awarded the Ministry of Health’s Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to undergo advanced training in sports and hip preservation surgery with Dr. Matthew Brick in New Zealand. Upon his return, he continued his practice at Woodlands Health, working at both Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Singapore General Hospital.
Dr. Foo is trained in arthroscopic (keyhole) and minimally invasive surgeries of the shoulder, elbow hip, knee, and foot & ankle His clinical focus remains on helping atnietes recover from sports injuries and return to their active lifestyles.
He serves on the Regional Societies Sub-committee of the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA), where he promotes and develops hip preservation surgery in Southeast Asia. Additionally, Dr. Foo is an active member of ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine), ASSA (ASEAN Orthopaedic Association), and SOA (Singapore Orthopaedic Association), He regularly attends and presents at regional and international orthopedic conferences.
Outside of work. Dr. Foo enjoys triathions and is always seeking his next adventure.
